L'Uomo Vogue Relaunch
ISSUE 01 / THE RELAUNCH
Thomas Persson was appointed Creative Director of L’Uomo Vogue in the spring of 2018. The iconic Condé Nast men’s title had closed the previous year, and Thomas came onboard as part of the new team to work on the relaunch of the magazine in time for its 50th anniversary this summer.
In close collaboration with the Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Italia Emanuele Farneti, Fashion Director Andrea Tenerani, and Deputy Editor-in-Chief Alan Prada, Thomas’ task was to reinvent the editorial structure and to give the magazine a fresh contemporary look. A big new format, a remastered logo design and a bold graphic language was introduced alongside the new profile: L’Uomo Vogue, the leading authority on men’s style and fashion.
To shoot the covers and fashion stories five women photographers were commissioned, each story representing five key directions in menswear. The five covers represents diversity and what a contemporary man is today. The first issue was launched during Pitti Uomo in Florence and men’s fashion week in Milan in June, to great critical acclaim.
