Public Light Art Installation
Lichtengrenze, 2014
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, an extraordinary light installation – The LICHTGRENZE (The Border of Lights) – was created, reimagining 15.3 km of the former route of the so-called Berliner Mauer by thousands of illuminated balloons.
The brothers Christopher Bauder and Marc Bauder conceived the idea of the LICHTGRENZE in 2011. It was part of the anniversary celebrations being organized by Kulturprojekte Berlin GmbH as part of an initiative from the city of Berlin. WHITEvoid developed and produced the 8000 battery powered light elements.
