Creative Director

Marc Ascoli Atelier32

Marc Ascoli rhymes with pioneer: he fashioned the metier of creative direction. His emerging status as an original and sophisticated voice makes him one of the most influential image makers of our time. Anyone familiar with Ascoli’s iconic work since his early years alongside Yohji Yamamoto, Jil Sander, and Martine Sitbon, knows that while he values the past and the lessons we can draw from it, Ascoli is very much about today and tomorrow.

Ascoli’s singularity lies in the loyalty behind building creative relationships with many influential talents of the industry. He has worked with and developed some of the most important and cutting-edge photographers in their debut from Nick Knight, Craig McDean, David Sims to Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott as well as the next wave of photographers, such as Viviane Sassen, Sam Rock, Jack Davison, Johnny Dufort, Senta Simond and Carlijn Jacobs.

In 2018, Ascoli was named Creative Director of AnOther and entrusted with the re-defining and rebranding of the magazine by offering a fresh perspective and boundary-pushing storytelling to the editorials. Ascoli platforms established talents and new voices, shaping the trend-setting London magazine with the idea that “Fashion must engage and celebrate new values in a changed world”.

Working through his studio, atelier32, Ascoli’s creative range covers advertising campaigns, brand identity, consultancy, art direction for magazines, editorials and books such as : Nick Knight – NICKNIGHT, Chloé – Attitudes, Dior – The Art of Color, Martine Sitbon – An Alternative Vision, Marianne Faithfull – A Life On Record to name a few. With his creative atelier and his tailored approach, Marc, has always invented and anchored trends, making it, his signature and keeping him at the forefront.

Continually marking the bridge between art and fashion, as for his campaign for Paco Rabanne with the collaboration of Scheltens & Abbenes, reflects Ascoli’s disruptive and alternative vision, remaining hugely influential to this day.

Today his studio has evolved, embracing a broad range of print and virtual media, offering bespoke solutions to clients and brands around the world including Paco Rabanne, Giorgio Armani, Armani Beauty, Loro Piana and Alberta Ferretti.
