Creative Director
Marc Ascoli Atelier32
In a recent conversation with The Impression, Marc Ascoli said: “Authentic Fashion must operate as a catalyst for a new cultural and societal landscape while recognising the need for an ideological and honest restart. The power of the imagination is more important now than ever. Fashion must engage and celebrate new values in a changed world.”
Ascoli’s emerging status as an original and sophisticated voice at the forefront of fashion and luxury grew through his collaboration with some of the most well-respected companies and brands. His portfolio includes some of contemporary fashion’s most iconic images. Of course, anyone familiar with Ascoli’s work since his early years as Yohji Yamamoto’s Artistic Director knows that while he values the past and the lessons we can draw from it, Ascoli is very much about today and tomorrow.
Engaged in 2018 as Creative Director of AnOther and entrusted with the rebranding of the trend-setting London magazine, Ascoli has worked with and developed some of the new generation’s most interesting photographers. They include Harley Weir, Johnny Dufort, Sam Rock, Jack Davison, Senta Simond and Carlijn Jacobs. They join a line-up of cutting edge talents who have benefitted from collaborating with Ascoli over the past decades, like Nick Knight, Craig McDean, David Sims, Mario Sorrenti, Karim Sadli and Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott. Paolo Roversi and Peter Lindbergh also chose Ascoli for various creative projects.
Working through his studio atelier 32, Ascoli’s creative range covers magazines, editorials, advertising campaigns, brand redevelopments, consultancy, creative direction and books. Today his studio has evolved, embracing a broad range of print and virtual media, offering bespoke visual solutions to clients and brands around the world.
